The yellow light inside reminds me of sodium lighting. Sodium lighting often messes with my sense of time, and makes me feel like I'm in a black-and-white film. Contrast between the yellow light inside and the pale sky and planes, the TSA agent seems to be longing for "Fweeeedom"
Yeah, the different color temperatures are one aspect of this that I really like. It really emphasizes the "this place is not like out there" feeling, which I like.
